This last Friday, the Water’s Edge Event Centre was bubbling with gorgeous, celebrity men for the Kidney Foundation’s Second Annual Celebrity Men Fashion Show fund raising event. In grand tradition, 10 men (five of which were Windsor doctors) walked the catwalk twice, modelling mostly stunning suits, with some casual and a quick glimpse at a pair of skin-tight triathlon shorts and tops.
This year’s cast of men included Dr. Armit Bagga, Dr. David Mady, Dr. Vince Ruisi, Dr. Phil Tremblay, Dr. Wayne Callaghan, marketing pro Matt Dunlop, Rakesh Naidu CEO of Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation, MMA fighter TJ Laramie, Shawn Talbot from the Windsor Comedy Festival and Vern Myslichuk of Better Made Cabinets.
The men were good sports throughout the event as the audience, mostly comprised of ladies, cheered and encouraged the boys along. Sporting fashions from Collins Formal Wear, Stars Mens Shops, The Running Factory and sunglasses from Visions of Canada, they made it look easy.
Injecting some fun and comedy into the show were emcees Michelle Mainwaring and 100.7 COOL FM’s Colin Botten. The duo was extremely entertaining and kept the show moving along with doses of playful comedy and flirtatious teases – even Botten got into the spirt with a subtle bend that brought out cheers from the ladies. Mainwaring, on the other hand, was in her element on the stage and almost a show on her own. Her playful swooning over the men was often unpredictable and at times extremely sexy. The combination of Botten and Mainwaring was a perfect match and hopefully we’ll see them together at other events in the future.
When it came down to sexy though, nothing could beat actor Rhys Wyn Trenhaile, who took a break from filming ABC television show Designated Survivor to be the evening’s special guest. He was kind enough to be auctioned off to spend the entire show on a glamour couch from Modish Lounge Rentals and pose for a photo session with the highest bidder.
It was a fantastic event for a fantastic cause.
All fun aside, the event was a fundraiser for a good cause, with auctions and revenues benefitting Kidney Foundation of Canada, Windsor and District Chapter.
