Prior to country star Dustin Lynch taking the stage at The Colosseum tonight (Nov. 19), Caesars Windsor took to the stage to announce a $20,000 donation to the Concert for a Cure campaign.
“We had a great October and November lineup with some of the best names in entertainment,” said Tim Trombley, Director of Entertainment at Caesars Windsor. “Because of the success of the concert series we’re pleased to announce a donation in the amount of $20,000. It’s because of you we make this happen for the community.”
The 2017 Concert for A Cure Series included deadmau5 (Oct 6), Steely Dan (Oct 20), George Lopez (Oct 21), Dallas Smith (Oct 26), Theresa Caputo (Nov 3), A Night with Janis Joplin (Nov 4), Styx (Nov 12) and Dustin Lynch (Nov 19).
“I’d like to thank Caesars for stepping up, this is what they do.” added Rick Durocher, President of the Windsor Cancer Foundation while on stage during the announcement. “They help out your local cancer community and on behalf of the 65,000 patients who come through our cancer centre every year, we thank you.”
Since 2013, Concerts For A Cure has donated $1 from every October and November Colosseum ticket sale to local non-profit cancer-related organizations whose primary goal is to raise awareness or provide support to individuals undergoing treatment. The campaign has now raised more than $100,000 for Windsor Cancer Research Group, Canadian Cancer Society Windsor-Essex, Hospice of Windsor-Essex, Pajama Angels, Transition to Betterness and In Honour of the Ones We Love.
