The second major performer for this year’s LiUNA! Bluesfest Windsor has been announced. Canadian-born blues-rocker Pat Travers will hit the Festival Plaza stage on Friday, July 13, joining hard rock band Extreme (who perform on Thursday, July 12) as the only announcements so far.
Known primarily for the massive classic rock radio hit Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights), Travers has been performing and recording for more than 40 years. Kirk Hammett of Metallica has cited him as one of his favorite guitar players. The Pat Travers band has featured several famous musicians over the years, including Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake), and Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, King Kobra).
The band has also appeared on the infamous KISS Kruise in 2014 where they were joined on stage by KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer and Paul Stanley’s son Evan. In an interesting coincidence, Extreme were performers on the 2017 KISS Kruise.
LiUNA! Bluesfest Windsor takes place July 12 to 15 at Riverfront Festival Plaza. Early bird ticket sales begin February 9. More band announcements and ticket prices are expected on the same day, with the complete lineup being released on February 21.
