One of Sunday’s LiUNA! Bluesfest Windsor performers has just been announced. Los Angeles-based blues-rocker Beth Hart will take the stage at Windsor’s Riverfront Festival Plaza on Sunday, July 15.
She began playing piano at age four, later attending L.A.’s High School for the Performing Arts as a vocal and cello major. By 1993, she was a regular fixture on the local club circuit. She rose to fame with the release of her 1999 single LA Song (Out of This Town) from her second album Screamin’ for My Supper and several subsequent albums have topped Billboard Blues Album Charts.
She’s recorded and performed as both soloist and head-turning vocalist, hooking up with guitar greats Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy and Slash. Hart was nominated for a Grammy Award for the album Seesaw, which saw her recording cover songs with blues rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa. She recently re-teamed with him for Black Coffee, a new album of covers that was just released in January. It features new version so f songs by such artists as Ike and Tina Turner, Edgar Winter and Lucinda Williams, among others.
LiUNA! Bluesfest Windsor takes place July 12 to 15 at Riverfront Festival Plaza. Early bird ticket sales begin February 9. More band announcements and ticket prices are expected on the same day, with the complete lineup being released on February 21.
