Amherstburg Freedom Museum Gears Up For Annual Emancipation Celebration

emancipationThe Amherstburg Freedom Museum will host the Emancipation Celebration, Friday August 2, 2019 at the Fogolar Furlan Windsor (Windsor Hall). The annual event recognizes Emancipation Day in Canada, which was first celebrated on August 1st, 1834.

This year’s theme is Dress for the Red Carpet! Join the museum for dinner and an evening of dancing, featuring Sound Drive. Guests are encouraged dress for the red carpet to complement the evening’s festivities. Dancing, silent auction, awards ceremony and presentation will round out the evening.

The celebration will continue on Saturday, August 10th, 2019 as the Museum will host the annual Walter Perry Emancipation Golf Classic, featuring an 8:00am shotgun start at Belleview Golf Club in Woodslee. Fees are only $120 and may be purchased by calling 519-736-5433.
