Cheeky Monkey, downtown Sarnia’s records and more store, is excited to be hosting a dynamic trio of musicians for the February 7th First Friday Cultural Walkabout.
Playing a little something for everyone, and everything in between, Beer Store Money hit the ground running since their inception. They are making joyful noise and getting positive attention all over Southern Ontario with their eclectic mix of original covers and a variety of music you wouldn’t expect to hear from your everyday acoustic rock cover band.
What you can expect is a big sound out of this small three piece band, giving their audiences rousing covers of hits ranging from the 60’s to current contemporary artists!
Along with being talented musicians, they have a great sense of humour as witnessed by the description of their individual contributions to the band. From their Facebook page… “The band is made up of Khrystopher Luther-Heath (Yelling/Guitar/Bass/Kitchen Sink), Marcus Moyneur (Drums/Cajon/Percussion/Also Yelling) and Melissa Miller (Voice of an Angel/Percussion/Things and Stuff).”
With hopes of pushing their experimental roots and sound to the next level with an original EP on the horizon for Spring 2020, BSM is taking the party to Cheeky Monkey on First Friday before embarking on a busy (and fun!) February and beyond.
While enjoy the music of Beer Store Money, take time to look at the art exhibit and sale titled ‘ Coastal’ by local artist W.A. (Bill) Walters. His style of painting known as plein air takes him outside throughout the year, in all types of weather, to capture the beauty we may not notice. Be it sailboats in the marina, a collage of colourful buoys or a stormy waterfront, he has the ability to help us see the mundane in a new way.
Beer Store Money will be playing during the February 7th First Friday at Cheeky Monkey, located at 130 Christina Street North from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. W.A. Walters current art show runs until mid April.
