Blue Man Group, the silent blue-coloured performance troupe, now owned by Cirque du Soleil, will bring its world tour to Windsor’s WFCU Centre.
The group, now in its 32nd year, will do four shows Saturday, March 16 (5 and 8 pm) and Sunday, March 17 (2 and 5pm). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday at 10 a.m.
The group formed in the late ’80s as a trio, eventually catching the attention of MTV. The performers, covered in blue paint and wearing dark clothing, use music, art and technology to explore different themes and issues. As the shows became more elaborate, they expanded to worldwide tours and a five-year residency at The Luxor in Las Vegas from 2000 to 2005.
Blue Man Group has performed to more than 35 million people worldwide and according to the group’s website, it splashes 18,000 buckets of paint per year, and has broken 23,000 drum sticks.
The current world tour features brand new content with new music, stories, custom instruments and graphics.
Tickets for the Windsor shows will be $45 to $99 (with special child, student and senior pricing), available at the WFCU Centre online box office.
