caesars-10th-anniversary

It’s going to be a hot summer in Windsor. A selection of nine A-listers have been announced for concerts this year for the 10th anniversary celebrations at Caesars Windsor. The series includes Sarah McLachlan, Trevor Noah, Russell Peters, Bryan Adams, Reba, Pitbull, Cole Swindell, Blink 182 and Disturbed.

The announcement was made during a press conference held today at The Colosseum, which also included a backstage tour of the venue, one of the few since it opened its doors on June 19, 2008. Watch for the first digital issue of YQG Rocks Magazine coming April 1, 2018 for our peek at the action backstage.

“This is truly an exciting year for us,” said Tim Trombley, Director of Entertainment for Caesars at the announcement. “We’ve spent over a year working to attract some of the biggest image acts and celebrate our tenth anniversary.”

Starting with Pitbull on May 25, the series continues with Lee Brice on May 26, Blink 182 on June 2, Russell Peters on June 15, Cole Swindell on June 16, Yanni on June 29, Bryan Adams on July 3, Sarah McLachlan on July 4, Disturbed on July 11, Trevor Noah on July 20 and Reba McEntire on August 2.

“Hi this is Bryan Adams,” said the iconic star in a video message. “I want to wish Caesars Windsor a happy 10th anniversary and I’ll see you all on July 3.”

Comedian Russell Peters also recorded one of several messages:

“I’m so excited that I’m shooting this video from my bathroom in Hong Kong. Tell me that’s not awesome? I’m honoured to be the first comic you’ve had and that you’ve had me as many times as I’ve been there.”

Of these shows, only three have been previously announced, including Adams, who sold out in only one day, making him the fastest sell out to-date. Before him it was The Tragically Hip and Journey. Yanni and Lee Brice are currently on sale.

Starting prices for these shows range from $25 for Yanni to $75 for general admission floor access to Pitbull.

With more than 2.3 million people watching over 640 shows at The Colosseum, the world-class venue has surely built a name for itself. Some of the highlights in the last 10 years have included Billy Joel, who opened the venue in 2008, as well as large productions from Toby Keith, Santana, Rascal Flatts, The Tragically Hip, Journey, Duran Duran, Enrique Iglesias and KISS.

Multi-award winning, Canadian songstress Céline Dion, performed at The Colosseum in February 2009. It was one of the biggest productions to-date with 6 tractor/trailers of production and a working crew of 80.

The Colosseum was recently named the top theatre venue in Canada for ticket sales by Pollstar, one of the most recognized music industry magazines.

More major concert announcements are expected in the coming weeks. Ticket sales times and dates are in the graphic below. Purchases can be made at Ticketmaster or The Colosseum box office.
