Hedley

Canadian pop rockers Hedley are currently on a cross Canada tour that has continued on despite allegations of sexual misconduct. Online protests from several female fans have begged venues to cancel the shows, but none have taken any action until today (February 27). Caesars Windsor, in a brief statement issued at 3:11pm, has announced it will no longer host the show, scheduled for The Colosseum on March 11.

“Hedley will not be performing at Caesars Windsor on March 11, 2018,” the statement says. “We will not be making any further comments beyond this point. We apologize for any inconvenience to our valued guests.”

Allegations of sexual misconduct first appeared earlier this month on social media in posts made by anonymous users which have led to the band being dropped by their management team, tour openers and dozens of radio stations across Canada. The Caesars concert is the first concert to be cancelled.

Band representatives say Hedley is not giving interviews at this time and called the allegations “unsubstantiated” in a statement issued earlier this month. In a later statement, the band acknowledged they “engaged in a lifestyle that incorporated certain rock ‘n’ roll clichés.”

The recent controversy has seen mixed reaction in terms of attendance as the band rocked to a large crowd in Ottawa at the beginning of the tour, but photos on social media show most empty seats in Montreal days later. Tickets sold well for the Windsor show before being removed from Ticketmaster.

Caesars Windsor is offering refunds at the point of purchase  and all Ticketmaster purchases will be automatically refunded. For help, call 1-855-985-HELP (4357).
