Windsor ComiCon has just announced its next major guest for the 2018 season – American character actor and voice artist, Tony Todd, known by horror fans worldwide for his chilling portrayal as Candyman in the Candyman horror trilogy.

Todd has consistently provided thrilling performances since his debut in the fantasy film Sleepwalk (1986). His impressive resume comes with more than 100 theatrical and television performances and exemplifies his versatility. He served as Sergeant Warren in the multiple Academy Award winning Oliver Stone film Platoon (1986); Kurn in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1990-1991), Ben in Night of the Living Dead (1990) and William Bludworth in the Final Destination franchise (2000-2011). As a voice artist, Todd portrayed the Fallen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), as Darkseid in Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League and Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom (2015) as well as the disguised voice of Zoom on The CW’s The Flash (2015-2016).

Other compelling performances include film classics such as The Rock (1996), The Crow (1994), Lean on Me (1989), Bird (1988), Le Secret (2000) and Silence (2002) plus and other notable appearances in Wishmaster (1997) and Hatchet II (2010).

His television movies include starring roles in Babylon 5: A Call to Arms (1999) and Control Factor (2003). He has also had prominent guest starring roles in numerous critically acclaimed television series including Boston Public, For the People and The District, as well as NYPD Blue, Smallville, Law & Order, Crossing Jordan and The X-Files. He has also appeared on 21 Jump St., The Young and the Restless, MacGyver, Matlock, Beverly Hills 90210, Xena: Warrior Princess, CSI: Miami, Andromeda, Charmed, 24, Stargate SG-1, Criminal Minds, Without a Trace, Angel, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Riverdale (2017 TV Series) to name a few.

Of special note, Todd has recurred on 3 incarnations of Star Trek (via Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine); a feat only achieved by a limited few. He was also strongly considered for the role of Dormammu in Doctor Strange (2016). In addition to this, he has acted on and off Broadway. Among his many roles are August Wilson’s King Hedley II and Athol Fugard’s The Captain’s Tiger for which he received the Helen Hayes nomination. Finally, Todd has provided the voice for several key characters in video games including but not limited to Legend of Dragoon, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Half-­‐Life 2: Episode Two and a trio of Star Trek games (including Star Trek: Online).
