Chantal KreviazukLive music is back, and Juno and Grammy Award winner Chantal Kreviazuk is bringing music from her latest album Get To You on a ten city tour across Ontario and Quebec. The Winnipeg native has been busy as well with her husband Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace forming a duo by the name of Moon vs Sun and releasing a documentary and accompanying album titled I’m Going To Break Your Heart.

It’s been almost 26 years since her debut album Under These Rocks and Stones was released with the hit single Surrounded which was a top ten hit in Canada and top twenty hit in The U.S. Over her career Chantal has collaborated with a multitude of artists including Pink, Josh Groban, Shakira, Kelly Clarkson, Pit Bull and Drake for which she won a Grammy Award as a producer on his album Take Care.

Her latest album, Get To You, was released in June of 2020, but two years of lockdowns and Covid restrictions have kept the Canadian songstress off the road. Get To You features Kreviazuk’s full range of vocal and writing talents from the pop sounds of the title track to the haunting Love Is What Is Good and the funky grooves of Shooting Star.

Asked what we can expect at the shows this month Chantal said, “I’ll play some new music, but I’ll definitely play as many songs as I can that are comforting because I think right now we just need a big cup of comfort. With all that’s happening in the world it’s been challenging at times to think of being reprieve for others, because that’s really the gift of being a musician or a performer, your catalyst as a transformer. People come to shows because they want to get away from stuff. They want a new insight, they want a new perspective. So there can be tough days, but sometimes it’s a gift to me too because I get to get away from the things that are challenging to me.”

Chantal has recently joined Twitch and has been composing music and interacting with her fans in real time on the social media app. She also is planning on focusing on her next project with husband Raine Maida after this tour as well as helping out with son Rowan’s debut album. I’m sure with musical lineage like that; Rowan will be a musical force to be reckoned with.
