It’s a concert 13 years in the making. Internationally known Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto will make his long-awaited return to Windsor with a performance at The Colosseum on Canada Day (July 1, 2022). For organizers Element Entertainment and LiUNA 625!, it’s also been three years of quietly rescheduling cancelled gigs because of the COVID pandemic.
The last time Tiësto visited the Rose City was in 2009 when he performed at the Boom Boom Room. Since that time, he’s now a Grammy® Award-winning, platinum-certified, international icon. With more than 36 million albums sold, eight billion cumulative streams, and a social platform with an audience exceeding 30 million fans spanning the globe, he continues to revolutionize the dance music landscape.
Tiësto’s latest single—and first release since signing with Atlantic Records -“The Business”, has dominated airplay and charts worldwide since its September release, garnering over 529 Million Worldwide Streams to date. It has also held a steady position on Apple & Spotify’s “Today’s Top Hits” and “Today’s Hits” playlists. “The Business” is certified Platinum in 12 counties and gold in 10 countries (including the U.S.) and has held a place on the Top 25 official singles chart in 12 countries as well as Top 50 on Spotify in 33 countries.
“This guy is the biggest artist in electronic music – he’s a pioneer,” said organizer Renaldo Agostino at a press conference for the announcement at Caesars Windsor. “He only plays the biggest and best cities, so to have him here in Windsor is a real statement for our community.”
As concerts and events resume around the country and the city, Agostino is looking forward to concert goers getting the chance to have something exciting to look forward to.
“I was at the Blue Jays game yesterday and when you are there you realize you forgot the energy of being at a big event like that. When somebody hit a home run and the crowd just roared, it really reminded me of what it’s like to watch live events with real people who feed off of each other. There’s nothing better than a Tiësto show for doing that.”
For the Windsor show, there will be no holding back – it will be a full throttle visual attack, complete with Tiësto’s famous pyro show. Floor seats of The Colosseum will be removed to make an open floor and there will be a VIP floor section as well.
Tickets start at $53 and go on sale on Friday May 6, 2022 at the Caesars Windsor Box Office and online.
