The LaSalle Strawberry Festival kicked off on Thursday (June 6) at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex. A large crowd came out for the carnival, some great entertainment, and of course, local strawberries.
Entertainment on Thursday was highlighted with a performance from The Soul Shakers.
This year the Strawberry Festival was relocated to the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex in an effort to avoid high water levels of the Detroit River and to ensure a safe event.
A large crowd is expected for Friday night’s fireworks at 10 pm.
Admission to the LaSalle Strawberry Festival includes all entertainment throughout the entire weekend. Admission is $5.00 per person for ages 6 through 65 (persons under the age of 6 and over the age of 65 get in for free).
