Two iconic 80s rock bands, one legendary night! Canadian classic rockers Loverboy and Trooper visit Windsor for a double-bill on Thursday, March 8 at 8 pm on The Colosseum stage at Caesars Windsor.
For more than 30 years, Loverboy has been delighting audiences around the world with a steady presence on the road since they began in 1978. Their self-titled debut album has sold more than one million copies in Canada and more than four million in the U.S.
With their trademark red leather pants, bandannas, big rock sound and high-energy live shows, Loverboy has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. Their string of hits includes, in addition to the anthem “Working for the Weekend,” “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “Hot Girls in Love,” “The Kid is Hot Tonite,” and “Turn Me Loose,”
Loverboy received a record six Juno awards in 1982 for their debut album and are the first Canadian group ever to earn Columbia Records’ exclusive Crystal Globe Award.
Joining Loverboy on stage is Juno award-winning band Trooper. With millions of records sold, dozens of hits and ongoing sold-out shows across Canada, Trooper is one of Canada’s top five selling bands of all time also renowned as one of the best live rock shows to see in the country and dubbed ‘Canada’s Greatest Party Band’.
Trooper’s 10 studio albums have earned multiple gold and platinum awards. Their six times Platinum greatest hits, Hot Shots, continues to be one of Universal Music Canada’s best-selling catalog CDs, is one of the biggest selling albums in Canadian music history and is one of the country’s most enduring party soundtracks.
In 2012 Trooper songwriters Ra McGuire and Brian Smith were awarded SOCAN’s prestigious ‘National Achievement Award’ to acknowledge their significant and lasting contribution to Canada’s songwriting legacy. “We’re Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time)”, “Raise a Little Hell” and “Two For the Show” – are just a few of the band’s iconic hits.
Trooper continues to consistently sell out shows across the country – often performing for three generations of fans – demonstrating that the band and its music remain borderless, timeless, and ageless.
