Windsor will always remember Mark Boscariol, a prominent Windsor business owner and downtown booster who passed away this summer. He was a strong supporter and a founder of the Windsor International Film Festival and WIFF organizers shared that love with the annual Mark Boscariol 48-Hour FlickFest and After-Party this past Friday (Nov. 2).
As the founder of the Windsor International Film Festival, Boscariol was passionate about fostering and nurturing talent and was the driving force behind the 48-Hour FlickFest, an opportunity for local filmmakers to compete in a beginning to end production of a 5-minute film within an intense 48 hours. This is a juried competition that included a $2,000 prize for Best of FlickFest. WIFF has honoured Mark Boscariol by naming the event in tribute to him. The films submitted to this year`s FlickFest event were screened on Friday, Nov. 2 at the Capitol Theatre, with an after-party that followed.
“The end of the film is the beginning of the conversation” — Mark Boscariol.
