Megadeth

In a tour announcement today, legendary thrash rockers Megadeth announced they will be bringing their Dystopia World Tour to Windsor this summer for the only Canadian date of its 2017 summer schedule. The band will play Caesars Windsor on July 5.

Dave Mustaine and company will play 11 dates in June and July, featuring support from Meshuggah, Tesseract and Lillake. The Caesars date will feature Megadeth and Meshuggah only.

Megadeth burst onto the scene 30 years ago, virtually inventing the genre with their debut album Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good! (recently recognized by VH1 as the Greatest Thrash Metal Debut Album of All Time) which sold more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades including 11 Grammy nominations, scoring five consecutive platinum albums—including Countdown to Extinction, which sold two million copies.

In its only other 2017 date, Megadeth will be playing Toronto on September 22 as guests of the Scorpions.

The band has been touring their Dystopia World Tour since 2016, which kicked off in Dallas on February 20 of that year. The North American leg has taken them across the U.S. and throughout Canada.

Ticket prices range from $28.25 to $84.75 and go on sale Saturday, April 29. For more information, go to www.megadeth.com or www.caesarswindsor.com.
