Swedish rock band Ghost has announced their sixth studio album, “Skeletá,” set for release on April 25, 2025, via Loma Vista Recordings. This marks their first full-length album since 2022’s chart-topping “Impera”.
The album announcement comes with the release of the first single, “Satanized,” which introduces fans to the band’s new frontman character, Papa V Perpetua. The music video showcases this new persona who will lead the band through their 2025 touring cycle.
Ghost has also launched an interactive experience called “The Satanizer,” developed with Jason Zada (creator of Elf Yourself), allowing fans to upload their photos and become part of the “Satanized” music video.
“Skeletá” represents a shift in the band’s creative direction, focusing on introspection rather than the outward-facing themes of previous albums. While “Impera” explored the rise and fall of empires and “Prequelle” examined plagues, this new album delves into personal emotional landscapes.
The 10-track album was produced by Gene Walker and mixed by Andy Wallace and Dan Malsch. The complete tracklist includes:
- Peacefield
- Lachryma
- Satanized
- Guiding Lights
- De Profundis Borealis
- Cenotaph
- Missilia Amori
- Marks of the Evil One
- Umbra
- Excelsis
Ghost will support the album with their “Skeletour World Tour 2025,” comprising over 55 dates across Europe, North America, and Mexico. The tour begins April 15 at Manchester’s AO Arena and includes the band’s first-ever headlining performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Papa V Perpetua will also make a special appearance at Black Sabbath’s final concert on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.
All performances will be phone-free experiences, with devices secured in Yondr pouches during the shows. With tickets already selling rapidly, the Skeletour promises to deliver what the Los Angeles Times called “one of the best live acts in the business,” continuing to expand Ghost’s devoted global following.
