The air at Pine Knob Music Theatre was electric on Sept. 23, as the much-anticipated RIFF FEST 2023, presented by 101.1 WRIF, unfolded in a raucous display of rock prowess. The festival, which has rapidly established itself as one of Southeast Michigan’s premier music events, offered a lineup this year that was nothing short of rock royalty.
Detroit’s very own I Prevail, fresh off a year of chart-topping successes, took center stage, reminding attendees why they have become one of the city’s proudest musical exports. Their performance, described by many as transcendent, was perfectly complemented by the raw energy of rock sensations Bad Omens, Badflower, and Giovannie & The Hired Guns.
The atmosphere was further charged by the passionate performances of Des Rocs, Tigercub, and BRKN Love, who got the crowd pumping on the second festival stage located in Pine Knob’s UWM West Parking Lot. 519 Magazine’s Maximus Reid was there to capture all the action.
