Quiet Love - promo 1 - main photoTell us about your career, including your history, where you are from and how you started?
I’ve been a fan of music for as long as I can remember, honestly. Getting a thrifted acoustic guitar for my 10th birthday and becoming obsessed with music came super natural to me. I used to make these horrible instrumental demos on my computer and sell them on burnt CD-R’s at lunch in middle school. From MySpace to TikTok, it’s always been a grind, and I love every second of it.

How did you come up with your band name?
I sat on the name QUIETLOVE for literally years – initially I came up with the idea in 2015. It was always in the back of my mind, as I knew I wanted to start a solo project at some point, but the timing never felt right. Fast forward to early 2021, locked away in my room due to the pandemic – the timing was just right.

Do you have any recorded music available for fans?
Yes! If you search QUIETLOVE on any streaming platform (i.e. Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc), you’ll find my first 2 singles, as well as ‘Selfies’ (my latest single).

How would you describe your music?
I tend to make heartbreak bops. Songs for any occasion, really.

What makes your band or music stand out from the others?
I self-produce all of my music, and I think in a way, it’s really helped me craft my own sound authentically. I think if I had brought my songs to a producer, it wouldn’t completely feel like me.

What do you like to do outside of music that contributes to your music?
I like to run, it keeps my mind at ease. Exercising in general I’ve found really helps alongside the writing/production process. Sometimes you get stuck in a rut, and letting that energy out and coming back to whatever you were working on has done wonders for me.

Name your two biggest musical influences, and why?
I really look up to so many amazing artists new and old – but the ones that I’ve found out produce their own records have recently been a big inspiration for me. Artists like N.E.R.D, Charlie Puth, Jon Bellion, FINNEAS, Russ and so many more have shown me that it’s possible to have a hit record recorded in your bedroom.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs?
I typically write all of my songs by myself, but I love collaborating with songwriters/friends within the industry when I can. Collaboration is really important for your growth as a songwriter and artist!

What has been your biggest challenge as an artist? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
The biggest challenge has been overcoming trying to be “perfect”. I think a lot of artists/songwriters can relate to that feeling and it takes such vulnerability to release your art into the world. I used to re-work ideas until I hated them and never put them out. I eventually got really sick of waiting for ‘the right moment’ to release my songs, and then the pandemic happened. The past year made me realize there’s no better time than right now and only you can hold yourself back. I’ve found such comfort in knowing that.

What current projects are you working on at the moment?
I’m always trying to creatively work on something. Top secret, for now. But, 2022 will be a good year. 😉
