Terry Fator, the popular ventriloquist who won the second season of America’s Got Talent, pulled into The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor on Saturday night (Nov. 10) for a fun night of song, comedy and special appearances from hit little puppet friends. 519 Magazine sent our photographer Kirk Harris to the show to capture some of the fun.
He opened with several songs which showcased his singing and impersonation skills, including a stunning rendition of Garth Brooks and a fun version of Ethel Merman’s Everything is Coming Up Roses.
“I bet you thought you were coming to a puppet show,” Fator told the crowd after he ended his 10-minute song and dance routine. “most people that come out to see me don’t realize I can sing too. My first memory was when I was two years old standing on a stage singing in front of an audience and they were laughing and cheering – and I liked it.”
It was all about the puppets. Fator brought along Winston the Impersonating Turtle, Maynard Thompkins – the world’s greatest Elvis impersonator who doesn’t actually know any Elvis songs, and his newer Donald Trump character.
The show was fairly similar to his last appearance at Caesars and included the popular routine where he places an automated dummy mask on an audience member and makes them say things they probably wouldn’t normally say.
There’s a reason Fator won America’s Got Talent and it’s pretty obvious when you catch him live. It’s a great show, he’s a funny man and his puppets are adorable.
