The Tea Party

Windsor rock royalty, The Tea Party will headline the 2017 edition of Rockin’ On The Riverfront on Thursday, July 13 at Festival Plaza. This concert is the official opening of Bluesfest Windsor.

The Tea Party just wrapped up a massive 31-date tour of Canada, which also featured select shows in the US and a couple upcoming ones in Australia. The tour celebrated the band’s 20th anniversary of the hit album Transmission, with a performance of the album in its entirety, followed by a selection of hits. To commemorate the anniversary, a red vinyl release for Transmission was released late last month. At this time, it’s unknown if the Windsor show will be a continuation of the Transmission Anniversary Tour.

Closing out the Thursday line-up is The Standstills, Autumn Kings, South River Slim and another popular band which will be announced on May 19.

Other headliners at this year’s Bluesfest Windsor include Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Fabulous Thunderbirds featuring Kim Wilson, The Sheepdogs, Foghat, Joe Louis Walker and Slim Jim Phantom from The Stray Cats. The festival will also feature several local artists.

Bluesfest Windsor 2017 takes place July 13 to 16 on the Riverfront Festival Plaza. Advance tickets are on sale now at www.bluesfestwindsor.com.
